Maylene Maldonado of Chicopee was arrested for assaulting a police officer after resisting arrest and is now involved in a $1 million federal lawsuit. Police say she admitted to using drugs and alcohol and, during her booking, became belligerent. In a recently released video of the arrest, Maldonado can be seen being put into a choke hold and being brought to the ground by by Sergeant Daniel Major. Sergeant Major has since resigned from the force and is facing assault charges. Maldonado has also filed a police brutality lawsuit against Major and seven other current and former officers.
